Smart graphic design doesn't just need to look incredible, it needs to tell a powerful story

That’s where SCBD comes in. I’m Sarah Casasanto, and I work with visionary organizations and individuals to help shape their brands. As an artist from way back, I am dedicated to unlocking the visual potential of your organization through fresh, unexpected designs. It’s important to me to build a relationship with you and fully explore the vision you have for your organization before I begin designing. By getting at the heart of what you’re all about, I deliver intentional designs that highlight your brand’s unique personality and message.

your team to handle your ongoing design needs?

Already have an established brand, but need help with a mini-campaign or an individual design project? I’ve got you covered. While I adore developing brand identities, I also love serving as a design resource and tackling whatever creative challenges you send my way.

A standout logo and polished materials—from business cards, to website, to signage , and more—can do wonders when it comes to building brand recognition and trust. If you want to take your branding to the next level, you’ve come to the right place. Get ready, because this is going to be fun!

My Story

My grandfather was an accomplished, RISD-educated artist who first awakened my love of art. In fact, his enthusiasm and talent inspired three of his seven grandchildren, myself included to become working creatives in various fields. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of time spent drawing with him or watching him create incredible watercolors and caricatures. He was, and is, my greatest inspiration. And like any growing artist, my creative interests continued to evolve throughout the years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in architecture and became fascinated by space, dimension, and aesthetics. In that serendipitous post-undergraduate way, my degree led me to the Boston architectural scene, though not as an architect—as a marketing professional.

design has been deeply embedded in everything I do. In fact, it's in my blood.

At the time, I had no idea that this pivot would lead me down the path to my passion. I learned from incredible mentors and discovered how to communicate powerful messages through purposeful branding. Before I knew it, I’d fallen madly in love with design. I took accelerated design courses at Boston's Massachusetts College of Art and Design to complement my “in-the-trenches” training. Soon, I was designing everything from websites to logos to event suites for businesses large and small. I even illustrated a children’s book to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

I launched SCBD to bring my artistic, intentional approach to even more organizations and individuals who recognize the value of storytelling, creativity, and one-of-a-kind designs that engage and inspire.

Runs on Ellie Bean

More than InDesign, my iPhone, and my Pantone book combined, there is one thing in the SCBD studio that I could not live without: my muse Ellie.

Ellie, an Olde English bulldog, is known for basically never barking, making everyone smile, and having the enviable ability to go from 0 to 60 no matter what time of day—without the aid of coffee. Impressive stuff. Her energy is contagious and she’s great at reminding me of the importance of getting away from the screen so I can draw inspiration from the adventure-filled world that awaits me.

SCBD is proud to work with creative, trailblazing organizations and individuals.

My clients are open to new ideas and looking for designs that are unlike anything they’ve seen before. Want to see yourself on the list below? Contact me today to talk about how we can take your branding and design to the next level.

Without A Hitch

"Sarah's expertise and services are ideal for small businesses that don't have the budget for an in-house designer... working with her since 2013, Sarah has allowed us to present and market ourselves in a way we otherwise would not be able to."

The Grossman Companies

"Sarah has the “it factor” of graphic design. Her designs legitimize and maximize my business, and represent my brand so well. She offers a new perspective on my marketing and makes suggestions and changes that I would have never thought of on my own."

"Sarah is a ray of light in a sea of 'take a number' design firms you might find on the web. Going with a smaller shop can cause some to pause, but Sarah did not disappoint. She is extremely talented, professional and provided all of the things the 'big firms' promise and beyond."

Speed Addicts

Take Their Word(s) For It

"The quality of Sarah's technical and creative work is some of the best I've ever seen. She is highly communicative (hard to find in my experience), punctual with deliverables and doesn't bat an eye about small modifications to projects that I've needed along the way."

Sarah Wells Bags

"Sarah designed all of the signage, branding, and logo design for a recent fundraiser I hosted, and the amount of attention that even the logo itself got that night, said volumes about the value of what Sarah creates for her clients. Hats off to her work."

Highland Financial Group

"Working with Sarah was a fun process: her suggestions always added to the design in a way I never considered. Each piece felt unique but also part of the larger whole. I received so many compliments on the beautiful menus, programs, and signage. It was all so perfect for our Wedding day."
